visionOS windows, volumes, ornaments, and spatial input
visionOS offers several presentation scales. A window suits familiar reading and editing, a volume suits bounded three-dimensional content, and an immersive space changes the surrounding experience.
Design the capability
- Begin Field Notes in a window with readable text, familiar controls, and shared application behavior.
- Use ornaments for nearby controls that support content rather than covering it.
- Use a bounded volume only when spatial arrangement adds meaning, such as annotated places or models.
- Respect eye and hand input, personal space, motion comfort, accessibility, and easy exit from immersion.
Validation boundary
No visionOS target, simulator, headset, tracking, immersion, or spatial accessibility evidence was available.
